Hello
Every individual and every life is unique and as a therapist I understand that I will never be fully able to know another human being's life experiences. However, I work hard to listen well to my clients, ask questions and be able to empathise with their experiences. I work in a culturally sensitive manner with an appreciation of and awareness of cultural nuances.
Here is a snapshot of my qualifications and experience:
-
BA Hons Theology University of Birmingham: grappling with philosophical questions about the meaning of life
-
DipHE in Youthwork with Oasis College of Higher Education: working with adolescents in church and council settings as they begin to become independent from their family networks.
-
Qualified Teacher Status - working with SEN students, delivering Religious Studies and PSHE lessons, pastoral care as a form tutor. Range of students from different cultural backgrounds.
-
Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Spurgeon's College: integrative training and development in a multitude of counselling theories but majoring in Transactional Analysis, Attachment Theory and Clarkson's Relationships.
-
The Awareness Centre: Clinical IAPT contracts with the NHS in GP surgery providing short-term solution-focused therapy in my own modality.
