What to Expect

Assessment

I provide a free initial 15 minute exploratory phone call to introduce myself, negotiate availability and discuss your needs.

We will take time to form a strong working alliance which will positively impact the therapeutic work.

Your early sessions of therapy will involve being really listened to well. This should begin to lower any anxiety, this also allow me to gain an understanding of you and how your personal history and patterns of relating are impacting your present.

Therapy

Your therapy trajectory and therapeutic interventions will then be tailored to you individually to meet your individual needs but we will broadly be working to help you have conscious choice over how to respond to both yourself and others instead of reacting in repeated patterns without understanding why e.g. acquiring a greater level of autonomy in your life.

I offer two types of services:

1. Therapy for common mental health and life experiences

2. Therapy for Christians in leadership experiencing trauma, burnout, stress or difficulties.

I work openly and transparently so that you always know what is happening and retain choice about your own therapy.

What is the Point?

Your therapy will aim to strengthen your autonomy by increasing your:

Spontaneity - your ability to respond to the here-and-now without being influenced by the past
Awareness - your ability to assess and understand yourself and any given situation
Capacity for Intimacy - the ability to form deeper connections with yourself and others without unconscious interference.

This enhances your ability to have choice over how to respond to situations and not just react to them.
